The collaboration between the Cassamarca Foundation of Treviso and the Chinese Academy of International Culture in Peking has been strongly promoted by the President of the Foundation, Avv. On. Dino De Poli, and is part of the increasingly positive relationships between the two governments. It was only through this collaboration that an exhibition of major international and scientific importance was made possible: an exhibition which reveals the development of Chinese culture in the context of the Silk Road, and the cultural exchanges between the East and the West. On behalf of the Cassamarca Foundation and the Chinese Academy of International Culture, Adriano Màdaro, a writer and journalist from Treviso, who for 30 years has observed and written about cultural contacts between China and the West, has acted as curator of the exhibition and dealt with international relations. The Cassamarca Foundation is one of the most active and influential cultural associations in the north-east of Italy. It works in partnership with many highly influential bodies in supporting projects and initiatives ranging from the promotion of Italian culture abroad to the ethics of biotechnology, and from support for local cultural excellence to collaboration with universities and researchers throughout the world.
